Exponential Function

I've counted too many times
How my days passed.

There were only a few of the given days 

worth living.

Sagan told me that those stars are ours.

Yet...
The exponential function I've been working on these last couple of years...
How it would just jump to much bigger numbers.

Hypatia was probably the bravest.
She spent her days counting and observing the same thing over and over.
"Up there she said...
If she could just unravel things just a little bit more."

We are probably all related.
In these ever-changing cosmos.
Evidently... it frightens the hell out of us.
